Allyson Wendt is a writer, cook, knitter, wife, and mama of two. She has been fascinated by the language we use to talk about bodies and illness for a long time – since she was pursuing a PhD at the University of Chicago. Although the doctorate never came to be, she has found a voice for those thoughts now that she is living with chronic hemiplegic migraines.
Persisting, for now, is a place for those thoughts and that voice. Maybe someday it will be more – a gathering place of sorts. But for now, it’s just a tiny spot for thoughts.
